Jammu, January 25, 2025: Indian Railways successfully conducted a trial run of the first Vande Bharat train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) to Srinagar railway station. The train journey passed through engineering marvels, including the Anji Khad Bridge and the Chenab Bridge, the highest railway bridge in the world. Designed to withstand the cold climate of the Kashmir Valley, the Vande Bharat train aims to improve connectivity and provide modern travel facilities in the region.
This initiative is expected to enhance transportation infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, facilitating smoother travel between the regions. The trial run marks a crucial step towards the operational launch of Vande Bharat services in the Kashmir Valley, contributing to the broader goal of modernizing India’s railway network and supporting regional economic growth.
