India Emerges as Global Electronics Manufacturing Powerhouse

New Delhi, January 11, 2025: India is rapidly becoming a global electronics manufacturing hub, with significant growth in producing smartphones, laptops, and other devices. Driven by the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and favorable policies, the sector has attracted substantial investments, with companies like Apple, Samsung, and Dell expanding their operations in the country.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) projects India’s electronics output to exceed $300 billion in 2025, compared to $87 billion in 2014. With rising exports, especially in smartphones, and a focus on innovation and self-reliance, India is positioning itself as a key player in the global electronics supply chain.
