AP Government Launches New Polytechnic Courses to Boost Employment Opportunities

Amaravati, January 11, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government has launched new initiatives to create employment opportunities for polytechnic graduates and address industry manpower shortages. The state has been divided into six clusters, introducing specialized courses tailored to the development potential of each region. In December 2024, three of the 32 newly developed courses were introduced in 10 polytechnic colleges, enrolling 700 students, with more courses to be rolled out gradually.

These initiatives include pharma courses in the Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam cluster, aqua courses in the Godavari districts, and electronics, solar, and wind power courses in Chittoor and Kurnool. The government aims for 100% job placements for polytechnic students while providing pathways for further education, such as pursuing B.Tech under AICTE guidelines.
