New Delhi, January 12, 2025: National Youth Day is observed every year on January 12 to honor the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of India’s most revered spiritual leaders and philosophers. In 1984, the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day to celebrate his profound teachings and ideals. The day recognizes the youth as the backbone of the nation and a source of inspiration for positive change and progress.
The theme for National Youth Day 2025 is “Youth for a Sustainable Future: Shaping the Nation with Resilience and Responsibility.” This theme highlights the critical role of young people in addressing global challenges such as climate change, driving innovation, and contributing to the nation’s development. Across India, various events and activities are organized to engage youth in discussions, workshops, and initiatives that promote responsibility and resilience among the younger generation.
