Chandigarh, January 9, 2025: Yuzvendra Chahal has been omitted from the Haryana squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT), sparking speculation that his exclusion is linked to rumors of a divorce from wife Dhanashree Verma. However, the Haryana Cricket Association (HCA) has clarified that the decision was based solely on cricketing reasons.
Sources from the HCA stated that Chahal’s recent performances and fitness levels did not meet the required standards for selection. Despite being a regular member of the Indian team, his form in domestic cricket has been under review, with the HCA opting for players in better form for the tournament. The association emphasized that personal matters had no influence on the selection process.
