Palakonda, January 7 – In a fit of anger over being denied leave, K. Durga Prasad, a Branch Postmaster from Navgam, along with three accomplices—Sheikh Shajan, Ambati Prakash, and Purri Raj—attacked Surendra Kumar, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, near his residence in Garammakalan on October 8. Prasad, fearing the consequences of carrying out the assault himself, had conducted surveillance on the ASP and organized the attack. The assault left Surendra Kumar severely injured, but the suspects fled when locals intervened. Following a complaint, the police arrested all four and sent them to remand.
